Breaking News – Zombie Outbreak Results in Block Leader Changes

1

This is a special report from Kencho Central Command (KCC) regarding upcoming changes in leadership due to the recent outbreak in Nagano Prefecture. Block Leader changes will take effect immediately (May 12th), and we encourage all JET participants to contact the newly recruited BLs who have been dispatched to their area. PA changes will not be enacted until August 2017. Please continue as usual until then.
We’ve lost some great soldiers this year, but will be gaining some equally great recruits in their place. We hope that all former BLs enjoy their after-(JET)-life, and wish all in-coming BLs the best of luck in their new roles.

After a failed reconnaissance mission, Captain Cheryl Lee and Captain Kyle Bezold retreated to the post towns of the Kiso Valley but were ambushed by a hoard of zombies as they bunkered in Tsumago. There were no survivors. Reports indicate that the infection rate has reached critical levels. Lieutenants Blair Lacy, Karen Johnson, and Sarah Allweiss-Rosenbaum are currently stationed in Matsumoto castle, a key strategic fortress in the Chushin region. KCC has tasked these three to retake the compromised post towns of the Kiso Valley.

Due to the recent rise in zombie population, the Nanshin BLs were dispatched to the Tenryu River, seeking possible means of escape. According to reports, Captain Maggie Bryan was attacked by a submerged zombie as she pushed the boat from the shore. She is survived by Major Megan Dung and Major Nigel Hay. Lieutenant Sharon Cook has been assigned to assist them in regaining control of the southern region.

After 5 years on the battlefield, Captain Kristin Johnson completed her JET service but sadly never made it to the extraction point. It is unclear who was exposed to the virus first but it is understood that either Captain Michelle Daher or Captain Shunji Shadd was infected, subsequently turning on the other Hokushin BLs. There were no survivors. Nagano AJET Special Forces sent Lieutenant Jake Waalk and Lieutenant Troy Robinson to investigate the situation and lead the remaining northern JETs.

Toshin has avoided any fatalities but is still facing significant restructuring. Major Vikki Nguyen will be relocated to Nagano City’s KCC in the summer. In her new role as PA-General, she will help coordinate basic training of new recruits. Major Michelle Finnegan will maintain her post in Toshin and is joined by Lieutenant Caroline Speth.

Kencho Central Command have confirmed that former PA-General Sydney is Missing In Action. Recent reports of someone fitting her description indicate that she is currently in Shizuoka Prefecture. Whether she intentionally abandoned her post or simply misread kanji has not yet been clarified. Major Vikki Nguyen will assume PA duties from late July.

In light of the critical situation, PA-General Chris has agreed to extend his term beyond the 5-year tour of duty. When asked to comment on PA-General Sydney’s AWOL status, he bluntly stated, “In the 4 years I have worked alongside Sydney, I have come to understand one thing – there is no way in hell she can read kanji.”
